Protect Criminal Justice Laws, Not Weaken Them

SUPPORT LEGISLATION THAT PROTECTS OUR CITIZENS FROM CRIME

Each year, our criminal justice laws are threatened by organizations that want to soften penalties for criminal behavior, demand early release for criminals, ignore victims rights, and refuse to acknowledge personal accountability criminals.  We support legislative leaders who will stand up to protect our criminal justice laws, not weaken them.

Repeal of the Justice Reinvestment Initiative

Enacted in 2017, JRI has released violent criminals before their end of sentence. Since it enactment, 56 homicides have been link to persons released from prison through JRI.

Allow Prosecutors to Charge Violent 17 Year Olds as Adults

SB 159 of the 2023 Legislative Session will allow for 17 year olds charged with violent crimes to be prosecuted as adults.

Oppose Early Parole for Ineligible Violent Criminals

We oppose early parole beyond what is currently provided by current law.

Support Minimum Bail Amounts for Certain Violent Offenses

HB 498 of the 2023 Legislative Session allows for judges to set minimum bail amounts for certain violent offenses.
